Hello & welcome! After spending most working days in gloomy offices & trudging the daily 9-5, I was desperate for a career in something fun & creative. Combining that thought with my adoration for a pretty set of manicured nails, I trained as an acrylic Nail Technician with Young Nails in 2003 & never looked back. Having been self-employed most of my working life, I've found myself thoroughly enjoying the challenges business brings. I've been a mobile, salon & home based Tech - revelling in each experience, including the highs & lows, of seeing all aspects of a working techs travels. I also opened my own bridal shop back in 2008, but after a number of years found the pull of the nail industry is where I belonged, particularly with the flexibility of working around family, health battles & personal circumstances.

When the opportunity arrived to launch Nail Sugar I just knew this was the perfect opportunity to spread a dose of my own creative sparkle in a thriving industry. What a journey it has been! I've made some wonderful friends - whom I consider extended family members. Being constantly inspired by the level of talent that has emerged from such an exciting sector is a massive driving force for me... keep your eyes on Nail Sugar, there's so much more to come & I can't wait to share it all with you!  Karen x

I first became interested in a career as a Nail Tech after thinking I’d try and do my own! Not quite as easy as it looks… however once I began to binge watch YouTube channels, they really helped to inspire me.

My journey began by training from home with Essentials Nails… soon after I became a woman on a mission!! In just over three months (by September 2017) I was qualified in ‘Acrylic Sculpting and Maintenance’. Afterwards, I progressed on to pass the ‘Essential Nails Acrylic Art Master’. By December 2017 I had passed my ‘Gelaze Pro Expert Nail Art Course’. Since then; learning new trends, styles and techniques have become an addiction for me! One thing I’ve learnt is that this industry is constantly changing & evolving – there’s always something new to learn and new challenges to embark on!

I started my YouTube channel, Natalie Mugridge Nail Artist, initially just for fun, but I started to really enjoy creating nails with my amazing selection of Nail Sugar goodies. It’s also a great opportunity to be able to share my own newly acquired knowledge with student techs & those who are freshly qualified.  Why not drop by to say hello and subscribe to keep up with all my latest tutorials, I’d love to see you there Natalie x

I’m a Zumba loving mummy & a crazy fun career behind me as a Nursery Nurse. However, to cut a very, very long story short...our amazing son has special needs and needed lots and lots of time at home whilst we found the right school to support him. After having my nails done for a few years, I stupidly thought 'well how hard can it be; I’ll train in it myself and work evenings!' Easy peasy eh?! Er, nope.
I started my business in April 2016 and chased my tail for months. Literally. No clients, no money coming in and just five gel polish colours! I cringe a bit when I think back to those early days but I’m also very proud of where my tiny, very, very part-time business is now. An ever-growing kit and of course....lots and lots of glitter! I’ve undertaken further training including freehand nail art, stamping, sculpting with hard gel and just recently e-file training and improving my gel application techniques.
I love nothing more than creating a set and watching the clients reactions as they admire them and thinking... 'I just did those' - whilst mentally punching the air and silently whooping!  My best advice is to believe in yourself. Never, ever be afraid to ask for help, there is no such thing as a silly question so always ask away; we’re all here to help one another. Jo x

I wanted to do nails as a career as when I started getting my own done for holidays and special occasions. I loved the feeling I had when they were done! Everyone loves a pamper, right?

I’ve always been a creative person and thought I’d look into doing a course! I actually thought I was too old to start at college (I was 29) I researched some courses online and enrolled with the Essential Nails gel polish course. Nail Tech friends I met online encouraged me to do my full qualification in Nail Technology. Shortly after, I applied for a Level 3 diploma in nails which I was accepted for! I was over the moon! I started my course in April 2016 and was fully qualified by August 2016.

Having been a constant supporter of Nail Sugar (along with Natalie's awesome tutorials) I was asked if I’d like to join the Nail Sugar team! I was totally shocked as I’m still learning and class myself as a beginner… but of course, I said YES!!

I’m aiming to become a full time Tech in the near future! Nails aren’t as easy as they look, however,  I’ve made lots of Nail Tech friends who are always encouraging and willing to help! I,m just so happy that I found something that I love doing! Sarah x

I started my nail journey in 2018 after years of playing with gel polish on myself. I decided to do my Level 3 Nail Technician course and finally qualified in manicure, pedicure and acrylic extensions in July 2018.

I really wanted to take this further and enrolled in a Nail Services course to gain another qualification in hard gel, more acrylic and fibreglass which finished in February 2019.

Being a relative newbie, I love watching other nail technicians and artists and seeing what can be created with nail products. I've found creating nail art very therapeutic, so whenever I feel anxious, out comes my glitter collection to pick me up again.

I’ve had so much fun in the last year creating art on nails and have met some amazing and truly inspiring people in the process. I’m so thankful to be part of the Nail Sugar team and am really looking forward to helping and hopefully inspiring others too! Claire x

I've wanted to do nails for as long as I can remember but was always told "that’s not a proper job" so I never continued pursuing my dreams. When I left school, I progressed into retail which eventually led me into retail management for the next 20 years.

Fast forward to Jan 2015... and this is when my husband and I decided to make the move from Southampton to North Wales. I was about to turn 35 and felt that if I don’t follow my dreams now I probably never will.

So in 2017 I trained as a Nail Technician with Young Nails and started my very own nail business in July 2017. I absolutely adore glitter and nail art, they are my passion along with creating beautiful natural nails. It’s the best job in the world to make someone feel good and to enjoy such creativity at the same time. Life’s too short, follow your dreams!!

 Nat x
